Shipping Policy
1. Shipping Costs
Shipping costs depend on the size, weight and destination of your order.
For artworks that can be shipped in standard packaging with maximum external package dimensions of 100 × 60 × 60 cm and a total weight of less than 10 kg, shipping within Austria is free of charge.
For larger, heavier or otherwise special shipments, individual shipping costs may apply. Where applicable, these costs will be shown separately during the checkout process or communicated to you before shipment.
International shipping costs are calculated according to the applicable rates of the respective shipping provider.
For deliveries outside the European Union, additional customs duties, import taxes or other charges may apply. These charges are not included in our prices or shipping costs and are the responsibility of the buyer.
2. Processing and Estimated Delivery Times
We generally aim to process and dispatch orders within 1–3 business days after receipt of payment.
As artworks may require individual handling, special packaging or coordination with artists and shipping providers, processing may occasionally take longer. If a significant delay is expected, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible.
Estimated delivery times after dispatch are:
Austria: approximately 3–5 business days
Europe: approximately 5–10 business days
International: approximately 10–20 business days
These delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on the destination, artwork, shipping provider and other circumstances beyond our control.
International shipments may also be subject to delays due to customs clearance.
If you require an artwork by a specific date, please contact us before placing your order and we will be happy to discuss the available shipping options.
3. Shipping Providers
Depending on the artwork, destination and shipping requirements, we work with established shipping providers including Austrian Post, DHL, UPS and FedEx, as well as other suitable carriers or specialised art transport services where appropriate.
Where tracking is available, you will receive a tracking number or relevant shipping information once your artwork has been dispatched.
We reserve the right to select the shipping provider and shipping method most appropriate for the individual artwork and destination.
4. Packaging
All artworks are carefully and securely packaged with the aim of protecting them during transport.
For framed works, sculptures, large-format artworks or particularly delicate items, additional or specialised packaging materials may be required.
Due to the individual nature of artworks, the packaging and preparation time may vary from order to order.
5. Transport Damage
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible after delivery.
Where possible, we ask you to notify us of any visible transport damage within 48 hours of receipt, as prompt notification helps us process any claim with the shipping provider or transport insurer.
Please retain the artwork, all original packaging materials and the shipping documentation until the matter has been resolved. We may also ask you to provide photographs of the packaging and the damage.
This request does not affect any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection or warranty law.
6. Returns
Due to the delicate and valuable nature of artworks, we ask that you contact us before returning any item so that we can coordinate safe return shipping and appropriate packaging.
Where a statutory right of withdrawal applies, this section does not limit or exclude that right.
Returned artworks must be handled with appropriate care and, wherever reasonably possible, returned using the original packaging and protective materials.
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, the buyer bears the direct cost of returning the artwork where the return is made under a statutory right of withdrawal.
Where a return is necessary due to an error on our part, a defect for which we are responsible, or confirmed transport damage, the applicable statutory provisions shall apply.
7. International Orders
For orders delivered outside the European Union, customs duties, import taxes, handling charges or other local fees may apply.
Such charges are generally imposed by the authorities or service providers in the destination country and are not included in the purchase price or shipping costs charged by BASE AT4.
Unless otherwise required by law or expressly agreed with us, these charges are the responsibility of the buyer.
We recommend checking the applicable import regulations and charges in your country before placing an international order.
8. Shipping Delays
We make every reasonable effort to process and deliver orders within the estimated timeframes stated above.
However, delivery times are estimates and may be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including customs procedures, carrier delays, adverse weather conditions, strikes, transport disruptions, force majeure or other unforeseen events.
In addition, artworks may occasionally require additional time for professional packaging, handling, collection from the artist or coordination with a specialised transport provider.
Where we become aware of a significant delay affecting your order, we will make reasonable efforts to inform you and arrange the best possible solution.
Nothing in this Shipping Policy limits any mandatory rights available to consumers under applicable law.
